May is Older Americans Month! Each May, we celebrate the important role older adults play in our communities. It is also a time to learn more about aging and think about how our community can better support older residents. This year’s theme for Older Americans Month is Champion Your Health. This theme encourages older adults, and the people who care about them, to take an active role in their health. It also reminds us that it’s okay to speak up and ask questions about the care and services we need. Today’s blog post will highlight local programs and community resources that can help you take charge of your health and find the support you need. This is only part one; part two will come later this month!
