Understanding the Different Types of Cybercrime

Cybersecurity is the art of protecting networks, devices, and data from unauthorized access or criminal use. Three of the main types of cybercrime are:

  • Identity Theft: When someone steals your personal information (usually without your knowledge) to commit fraud.

  • Scams: A fruadulent or deceptive act or operation.

  • Phishing: When a scammer tries to steal your information by getting you to click on a malicious link by sending it in fake emails or messages.
