Washtenaw County announced that cooling centers will open starting today (July 7) through Friday (July 10). Both locations are open 9-5am and will have water and masks available. Social distancing will be in effect.

What’s a cooling center?

A cooling center is an air-conditioned space (usually a public place such as a library or community center) that offers community members a place to cool down during dangerously hot weather.

Is there a cooling center near me?

  • Learning Resource Center (4135 Washtenaw Ave)
  • Washtenaw County Human Services Building (555 Towner, Ypsilanti)
