Senior Haircut Options

For many older adults and homebound seniors in Washtenaw County, something as simple as a haircut can become a real challenge. Transportation barriers, health concerns, mobility limitations, and caregiving schedules can make regular salon visits difficult. With Hairstyle Appreciation Day on March 30, we wanted to highlight a variety of local services that bring professional haircuts directly to seniors’ homes. In this post, we’ll explore mobile haircut options available throughout Washtenaw County, as well as low-cost options to help make self-care more accessible. 

 

Mobile Haircuts

    • Has a salon inside Cross Street Village and also provides mobile haircuts- usually on mornings and weekends.  
    • Has been licensed since 2012. 
    • Has experience with different hair textures and can do braiding.

      • Hair color: $50 
      • Perm: $60

    • Services: haircuts (no perms or colors).

    • Pricing: haircuts start at $35 ($29 for those age 67+).

    • Located in Ypsilanti (2084 Whittaker Road in Paint Creek Plaza).
    • Services are performed by students in training under the direct supervision of a licensed instructor.

    • Pricing: haircuts start at $15.
