The Importance of Oral Health and its Relationship to Dementia

We have known for some time the importance of good oral hygiene, but research continues to show that oral health is related to overall health. In the first part of the program (6:30 – 7 p.m.), dental students from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry will discuss the importance of oral health and will provide oral hygiene tips. In the second part of the program (7 – 7:30 p.m.), you will learn about the latest in dementia research, including recent research that suggests good oral health can reduce the risk of dementia.
